It's been a busy stretch in Lee's Summit, and this week's newsletter reflects that. A $13 million budget shortfall at City Hall, a touching tribute to a beloved local brewery founder, and six new summer concerts at Legacy Park. That's a lot of hometown to cover, and we're here for all of it.

One of my favorite things about covering Lee's Summit is weeks like this one — where the calendar fills up on its own and all I have to do is point you toward it.

  • Tuesday is a genuinely ridiculous night for music bingo fans — you've got Xtreme Music Bingo at The Goat Brewing Co. at 7 p.m., Tequila Tuesday Music BinGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (yes, that's the actual name) at Bullseye Bar also at 7 p.m., and Music Bingo at B&B Theatres New Longview 7 at 7:30 p.m. Pick your venue, bring your competitive side, and may the best bingo player win.
  • If you've been looking for a reason to finally try Silent Book Club Lee's Summit, this Wednesday they're popping up at the Downtown Farmers Market location on Green Street at 6 p.m. You bring the book, they provide the vibe. No discussion, no pressure — just people who love reading, together.
  • Pokémon Trivia Night (Gen 1-4) at Craft Putt on Wednesday at 7 p.m. is either your nightmare or your dream come true. I have a feeling the people who show up for this one have been ready since 1999.
  • Friday has some solid live music options. Mike Murphy Live at Iron Horse Bar & Grill at 7:30 p.m. is always a good call, and if you want to learn something while you're out, the Prohibition Era History and Mocktail Mixology Class at the Farmers Market space at 7 p.m. sounds like a genuinely fun adult night out.
  • Saturday is loaded. Tour de Lakes 2026 kicks off at 7 a.m. from Longview Community Center for the cyclists among us. Westlake Ace Hardware is holding a Grand Re-Opening Celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. And for our baseball fans — there's a Royals Watch Party at B&B Theatres Lee's Summit 16 at 1:15 p.m. with the Royals taking on the Cardinals. Go Royals.
  • And as always — the Downtown Lee's Summit Farmers Market is running Wednesday and Saturday this week. Get out there.

If you, or your organization, have an event you'd like listed in Lee's Summit's only community calendar reaching more than 20,000 people, just click here and hit the "CREATE AN EVENT" BUTTON.
